The following area of the Buffalo River – Arkansas Highway 21 connect south of Boxley to the Ponca low-water span at the Highway 74 crossing – is another that doesn't get a lot of utilization, as the water levels are typically too low. In any case, when conditions are correct, this six-mile stretch offers a quick moving arrangement of class II rapids, huge numbers of which are bound with willows. Just think how wonderful it would be booking your stay in one such cabin on the Buffalo River.
Maybe the most acclaimed of all Buffalo River buoys are those that occur amongst Ponca and the Arkansas Highway 7 crossing (referred to until late years as the group of Pruitt). Something for everybody can be found in this 25-mile segment: class I and II rapids (complete with risks like "Dark Rock"); the most elevated waterfall in mid-America (at Hemmed-in-Hollow); the 11,300-section of land Ponca Wilderness; towering precipices including the 500-foot-tall Big Bluff; and an astounding combination of swimming gaps. Moreover, there are a few strategically placed access focuses/campgrounds – Steel Creek, Kyles Landing, Erbie, and Ozark – amongst Ponca and Highway 7. The following stretch of Buffalo River – Arkansas 7 to Highway 123 (or Carver) – is around 10 miles long. While it doesn't offer the staggering landscape accessible simply upstream, this is a fine buoy, particularly for families. It highlights class I rapids, rock bars, and various feigns. Campgrounds and access are accessible at Carver or over two miles upstream at Hasty. Another significant segment of the stream starts at Carver and closes around 32 miles downstream at the U.S. 65 span (in the middle of access and outdoors zones are accessible at Mount Hershey, Woolum, and Tyler Bend). Numerous Buffalo veterans consider this to be among the streams finest extends. While different areas highlight higher feigns and all the more difficult rapids, this segment of the stream is one of its calmest and most serene excursions. The view is great, as well, including such things as "The Narrows" – a tall yet limit rock outcrop isolating the Buffalo and Richland Creek. Certainly, romantic getaways in Arkansas can become memorable by booking cabins on the Buffalo River.
